250 prisoners shifted from Gujarat to Jhelum jail

Authorities shifted at least 250 prisoners from Gujarat Jail to Jhelum Jail keeping in view the panic caused by the floods across Punjab, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday evening. 

According to the report, there were 1,008 prisoners in the Jhelum District Jail and now this number has increased to 1258.

The Jhelum Jail has a capacity to hold 568 prisoners and the higher number of prisoners is a challenge for the administration.
