FBR removes 60-day password change condition to facilitate taxpayers

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced the removal of the condition requiring taxpayers to change their online profile passwords within sixty days, a move aimed at providing greater convenience in filing income tax returns.

The decision comes after thousands of taxpayers faced the cancellation of their passwords for failing to update them on time, which created difficulties in submitting returns.

With the condition now lifted, taxpayers are expected to face fewer hurdles in meeting their obligations, while FBR says the step will ease the return-filing process and encourage wider compliance.
