Kim Kardashian turns heads in a bold Maison Margiela look at Venice event
Kim Kardashian made a striking appearance in Venice, Italy, where she attended the Diane von Furstenberg Award during the 82nd Venice International Film Festival.
The 44-year-old entrepreneur and SKIMS founder opted for a pale grey outfit designed by Paris-based fashion house Maison Margiela.
The ensemble featured an elaborate leotard-style top with shoulder pads, a high neckline, and long open sleeves, paired with wide-legged trousers.
The unusual combination immediately drew attention online, with fans describing the futuristic silhouette as “bold” and even comparing it to designs from science fiction films. While the look was unconventional, Kardashian carried it with confidence, adding dramatic makeup with a deep red lip and pale pink nails.
She accessorised with diamond rings but notably skipped carrying a purse or phone as she was photographed walking across a bridge towards the venue.
The event was held in honour of veteran Belgian fashion designer and philanthropist Diane von Furstenberg, best known for popularising the wrap dress in the 1970s, a garment that went on to become a symbol of women’s empowerment and a fashion staple for global figures including Michelle Obama and Kate Middleton.
Kardashian later shared glimpses of the look on her Instagram Stories, where followers commented on its unusual structure. Despite speculation about its comfort, the star was praised for making a daring fashion statement.
Earlier in the week, Kardashian was photographed in Milan, where she visited the Diesel store wearing a black silk gown with lace details. She has been travelling across Italy this summer with her children and sister Khloe Kardashian.
Alongside her fashion appearances, Kardashian also used social media to speak about her health journey. She revealed that stem cell therapy had helped her recover from a shoulder injury and chronic back pain, conditions that she said once left her believing her “body was breaking down.”
The mother of four credited the treatment for restoring her mobility and providing long-term relief, sharing that she wanted to encourage others struggling with similar pain to explore medical options under expert guidance.
By combining her public advocacy with a high-profile appearance at the Venice festival, Kardashian once again positioned herself at the intersection of celebrity culture, fashion, and lifestyle trends.
