US envoy Baker meets Mohsin Naqvi; expresses sympathy over flood losses

Acting US Ambassador to Pakistan Natalie Baker held a meeting with Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, focusing on a wide range of bilateral matters, including the extradition of US-wanted individuals, border security, counter-narcotics cooperation, Coast Guard support, and forensic collaboration.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, during the meeting, the Acting Ambassador expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and property caused by recent floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, while responding, welcomed former US President Donald Trump’s announcement regarding Pakistan’s increasing oil reserves, terming it a positive development. 

Mohsin Naqvi invited US investors to explore opportunities in Pakistan’s oil sector and other industries, assuring them of all possible facilities and government support.

Ambassador Baker reaffirmed that the United States attaches special importance to its relations with Pakistan and intends to strengthen cooperation in multiple sectors.

The meeting was also attended by Federal Interior Secretary Muhammad Khurram Agha and Additional Secretary Major General Noor Wali Khan.

Yesterday, US Charge d’Affaires Natalie Baker met with Minister of State for Religious Affairs Kheal Das Kohistani.

According to a spokesperson for the US Embassy in Islamabad, important discussions were held on religious freedom and interfaith harmony in the meeting.

The US Charge d’Affaires said that the United States values ​​Pakistan’s religious and cultural diversity. She also appreciated the commitment to promote respect for all religions.
