Man arrested for abducting and assaulting woman in Lahore

Lahore police claimed to have arrested a rickshaw driver for allegedly abducting, brutally assaulting, and sexually assaulting a young woman, 24News HD TV reported on Saturday.

According to police, the woman worked at a private mall on Link Road, Model Town, and boarded a rickshaw to return home after finishing her shift.

Model Town SP Asad Ali said the suspect allegedly threatened to kill the woman and took her to a house on Ashiana Road instead of taking her home.

The woman alleged that the suspect physically assaulted her at the house before sexually assaulting her.

Police said the suspect later dropped the woman near her home and fled the scene.

With the help of human intelligence, police traced and arrested the suspect, identified as Abid, from the Bank Stop area.

A case has been registered against the suspect, and the investigation has been handed over to the Gender Cell.

SP Asad Ali said those involved in exploiting women would not be given any concession and assured that legal action would be taken against the accused.
