Despite the fact that only three days are left for the parliamentarians and members of provincial assemblies (MPAs) to submit details of their assets to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), still 701 lawmakers have not submitted the required information so far, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.
Despite repeated reminders, of 1195 parliamentarians and MPAs, only 485 have provided the ECP with the required details so far.
Sources say 197 members of the National Assembly (MNAs), 231 members of Punjab Assembly and 92 members of Sindh Assembly are still to comply with the election commission’s directives.
Similarly, 57 senators, 87 members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly and 37 members of Balochistan Assembly have not submitted the required details.
It is reminded here that December 31 is the last date for the submission of assets’ details to the ECP. Membership of those parliamentarians and MPAs who would fail to meet this requirement would be suspended on January 16.
