Gas price hike in Balochistan, Sindh on cards

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has given go-ahead for an increase in gas tariffs on the request of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC).

Ogra sent the revised prices to the Centre. Consumers in Sindh and Balochistan will bear an additional burden of Rs14 billion as the authority recommended 100 per cent surge in meter charges and with effect from July 01, 2020, with the average increase of Rs39.89 per MMBTU

The decision drew ire among the opposition and civil society members.
