Govt to carry out third party audit of captive power plants

The federal government has decided to carry out third party audit of Captive Power Plants, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

While the third party audit, the government has directed the Power Division to propose a transparent mechanism within a week for the audit of the Captive Power Plants.

According to the documents available with the TV channel, the audit will be carried out of export and non-export captive power plants claiming co-generation. The audit will be conducted by NECA.

The government has sought details from the power plants claiming co-generation by February 1.

The documents reveal that the audit of electricity and heat captive power plants will take three months.

And if the co-generation plants proved in the audit the gas supply will continue to that captive power plant and if co-generation is not proved gas supply will be cut off.
