Justin Bieber to reunite with ex Selena Gomez at Grammy Awards 2026?

Justin Bieber is officially stepping back onto the Grammy Awards stage, ending a four-year absence with a highly anticipated performance at the 2026 ceremony airing Sunday. The appearance marks his first time performing at the Grammys since 2022, when he delivered a widely praised rendition of Peaches alongside Giveon and Daniel Caesar.

Now 31, the global pop star’s return is being framed as a defining moment, signaling his full re-entry into the spotlight after a year that reshaped his career trajectory.

His comeback performance comes as the Grammys assemble a packed lineup that includes Sabrina Carpenter, Clipse with Pharrell Williams, and Best New Artist nominees the Marías, Addison Rae, Alex Warren, KATSEYE, Leon Thomas, Sombr, Lola Young and Olivia Dean.

Additional performers are expected to be revealed soon, according to Rolling Stone.

Bieber’s reappearance follows the surprise release of his 2025 album Swag, which opened at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 after moving more than 163,000 units in its debut week.

Although it narrowly missed the top spot, the album delivered the strongest streaming launch of his career, with 16 of its 21 tracks landing on the Billboard Hot 100. Released in July 2025, Swag leaned into a more introspective, alternative R&B direction and included tracks such as ALL I CAN TAKE, YUKON, GO BABY, DADZ LOVE, THERAPY SESSION and FORGIVENESS.

Just two months later, in September, Bieber doubled down with Swag II, bringing the combined total across both projects to 44 tracks.

At this year’s Grammys, Bieber is nominated for four awards. These include Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for Swag, Best Pop Solo Performance for Daisies, and Best R&B Performance for Yukon. In the Album of the Year race, he will go head-to-head with Bad Bunny, Carpenter, Clipse, Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar, Thomas and Tyler, the Creator.

Over the course of his career, Bieber has accumulated 23 Grammy nominations and has won twice.

Adding tension to the night, his former girlfriend Selena Gomez is also expected to attend. Gomez and her husband, producer Benny Blanco, are nominated for their collaboration Bluest Flame, meaning the former couple will be under the same roof at one of the music industry’s most watched events.

Bieber is expected to attend alongside his wife, Hailey Bieber, who has remained a steady presence during his recent resurgence. The couple, married since 2018, welcomed their first child, a son named Jack Blues Bieber, in August 2024.

The Grammys are just one milestone in what insiders describe as a powerful new phase for the singer. Later this year, Bieber is set to headline Coachella under a historic, self-negotiated deal reportedly worth more than $10 million, making him the highest-paid headliner in the festival’s history.

"It's a groundbreaking move for a headliner, and it's something he built entirely on his own," a source close to Bieber previously told Rolling Stone. "Between headlining Coachella and the success of Swag, it's clear this is the start of an exciting new era for Justin - one where he's fully in the driver's seat."

Sources claim Bieber’s fee exceeds $5 million per weekend, putting him far above previous Coachella payouts. While the festival does not publicly disclose artist compensation, speculative figures have circulated for years.

Bad Bunny, a 2023 Coachella headliner, was reportedly paid $5 million, according to the Trapital Podcast. The Weeknd is said to have requested $8.5 million, while Ariana Grande allegedly earned $8 million. Billboard previously reported that Beyoncé made between $8 million and $12 million for her 2018 headline slot.

A year earlier, The New Yorker reported that Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar and Radiohead each earned between $3 million and $4 million for their 2017 performances.

Although Goldenvoice’s parent company, AEG, has long partnered with Bieber on his tours, this marks the first time he has personally taken control of negotiations, underscoring just how much power he is now wielding in this latest chapter of his career.
