PNCA hosts 'Umeed-e-Naubahar' mega art and literature event in Islamabad

The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) inaugurated a mega art and literature event titled “Umeed-e-Naubahar” in Islamabad under the auspices of renowned painter, writer and motivational speaker Qamar Siddiqui.

The unique event featured four major sections, including a remarkable 100-foot-long painting and a literary exhibition. The exhibition showcased collaborative works by artists, writers, intellectuals and students from various educational institutions, including Fatima Jinnah Women University Rawalpindi and Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar.

The central theme of the exhibition revolved around honesty, sincerity, purity, peace, unity, and true success, which were creatively expressed through both art and literature.

The event was inaugurated by chief guest Asad-ur-Rehman Gilani, Secretary of the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture along with PNCA Director General M. Ayub Jamali and Dr. Najiba Arif. A group exhibition by prominent artists was also part of the event, featuring works by Nusrat Ji, Murad Khan, Makhtoom Fatima, Namayra, Shazia Jafri, Tayyaba Aziz, Ayesha Qamar, Saima Aamir, Zakir Ali, Sidira Ashraf, Nadia Raza and Mazhar Qureshi.

Additionally, artworks by Momina Qamar, Hina Qamar, M. Abdullah and Qamar Siddiqui were displayed as part of a family show.

During the ceremony, AKL Awards were presented to artists, writers, scholars and personalities recognized for serving humanity with honesty and sincerity. Chief guest Asad-ur-Rehman Gilani distributed the awards and appreciated the efforts of the organizers. He also announced that a coffee table book based on the exhibition will be published and presented internationally to promote Pakistan’s message of peace, unity and truth.

The exhibition will continue at PNCA and will remain open to the public in Islamabad from 10 am to 4 pm daily until February 6, 2026.
