Former interior minister and Awami Muslim League Chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has claimed that matters have been settled regarding general elections in October, formation of new election commission and interim government setup. He said everybody including one who is self-isolating these days (hinting at Asif Ali Zardari) have been agreed except JUI Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Taking to his Twitter handle, Sh Rashid wrote on Friday: “Instead of a by-election, matters have been decided on a new election. The nation will soon hear the news regarding date for new election in October, formation of new election commission and the caretaker government setup. Those who are in quarantine have also agreed to the election, only Fazlur Rahman is left. Dollar at Rs250 and Rs10 hike in electricity tariff and LPG will shut down the markets.
“The political reputation of the allies has turned into ashes. They cannot face public and escape the country, nor could they call someone from abroad. Now the people of God will decide. Democracy has become a joke and the Assembly a spectacle. Crisis is heading from Sri Lanka to Lebanon and then to Iraq. And now it’s rushing towards Pakistan. Recently, four governments have ended in Europe.”

“(The government) has failed to appoint the State Bank governor. It lifted ban on 30 luxury items. The S&P credit is negative. The IMF has not yet released its bailout package. New president of PML-Q will recall two of his ministers. The support of BAP has gone. Shortfall of 6,000 MW electricity and additional tax of Rs6,000 on shopkeepers will unleash new economic destruction.”
