DIB Lahore Cantt cheif suspended in raid on AG’s brother’s house case
In-charge District Intelligence Branch Lahore Cantt Saeed has been suspended for providing wrong information in the case of raiding the house of the brother of the Attorney General of Pakistan, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
According to police sources, in-charge DIB Cantt provided information to SP Cantt and SHO Sarwar Road.
In-charge DIB Cantt also assisted in sharing location.
Instead of verifying the information, SP Cantt ordered the raid.
Instead of taking action against officers, the SHO and officials were held responsible for conducting the raid.
Earlier, 11 officials, including the SHO, were suspended, and a case was registered for the wrong raid.
Meanwhile, six officials, including the SHO named in the case, have taken interim bail, fearing arrest.
Additional Sessions Judge Zulfiqar Ahmed Naeem has stopped the arrest of the accused till August 12.
The court directed the submission of Rs50,000 surety bonds each while granting interim bail to the accused.
The court has ordered the SHO and other accused to be interrogated. The accused include SHO Ijaz Haider, Muhammad Irfan and Seerat Tariq.
The Sarwar Road Police Station has registered a case against the accused.
