Syed Mohammed Ahmed chooses gratitude over negativity after bullying claim
Veteran Pakistani actor and writer Syed Mohammed Ahmed has chosen gratitude over bitterness after his recent bullying allegations sparked widespread debate, thanking fellow artists for standing by him and saying their unwavering support has overshadowed the painful experience.
Taking to his official Instagram account, Ahmed shared a smiling photo alongside an emotional message expressing his gratitude to colleagues who reached out to support him.
He wrote, “I’m truly overwhelmed and touched by all the messages, calls and voice notes I have received from all my colleagues in the industry. Thank you to each and every one of you. It has truly been heartwarming to see how you have all reached out and stood up for me. We may often talk about the highs, lows, challenges and gripes that we experience in this industry, but at moments like this I realize that I am not just a part of a fraternity but…a family. Today I will choose to focus on these positive messages instead of that negative experience. Thank you everyone again. This makes my years in this industry worth it.”
In his message, Ahmed chose to focus on the overwhelming support he received from fellow artists, saying their solidarity meant more to him than the negative experience itself. His heartfelt words highlighted the strong bond he feels with the entertainment industry despite the difficult situation.
The controversy began after Ahmed appeared on a recent podcast, where he recalled an alleged incident of workplace bullying. According to him, a popular lead actor, around 40 years younger than him, allegedly mocked his appearance, baldness and acting style in front of the production crew. Ahmed also claimed the actor sarcastically held a small fan above his head as if it were a hairdryer, making fun of his baldness.
Ahmed said he chose not to respond at the time because he wanted to maintain a professional atmosphere on set. His account of the incident later sparked widespread discussion across social media and drew strong reactions from members of the entertainment industry.
Several prominent actors, including Syed Jibran, Shamoon Abbasi, Faysal Quraishi and Omair Rana, publicly voiced their support for Ahmed. Some also urged the unnamed junior actor to come forward and issue a public apology.
Fans also flooded social media with messages of support, praising Ahmed for his dignified response and calling for greater respect towards senior artists who have dedicated decades to Pakistan's entertainment industry.
