Pakistan has officially entered a new era of digital economy and tech diplomacy, with Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Bilal Bin Saqib at the forefront of this transformative shift, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to the report, during a series of high-level meetings in the United States, Bilal Bin Saqib initiated what is being termed as “crypto diplomacy”, engaging with Web3 leaders and blockchain experts to position Pakistan as an emerging tech-savvy state.
Under his leadership, the Pakistan Crypto Council has announced the formation of a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, a landmark step signalling the country’s commitment to integrating blockchain into its financial and technological future.
In another major announcement, the Government of Pakistan has allocated 2000 megawatts of electricity specifically for AI, blockchain, and Bitcoin mining initiatives — a move expected to boost digital innovation and attract foreign investment.
Bilal Bin Saqib emphasised, “Pakistan is no longer seeking aid — we are forging global relationships based on innovation and technological leadership.”
The initiative has been widely praised in the global Web3 community, with Pakistan aiming to play a pivotal role in shaping the decentralised digital economy of the future.
