Scam in black coats: Two pseudo-lawyers nabbed in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi police have arrested two imposters posing as lawyers for practicing law illegally in local courts, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.

According to the channel, the Secretary of the Rawalpindi District Bar lodged a formal complaint, leading to the registration of a case against the accused.

The suspects, identified as Hanif and Waseem, were reportedly wearing lawyers’ uniforms and presenting themselves as legitimate advocates.

According to the FIR, they not only fooled clients with fake legal cases but also appeared before judges in various courts.

The case states that the fake lawyers had been scamming innocent litigants, promising legal aid under false pretenses and extracting money from them.

Authorities are now investigating whether more individuals are involved in this legal impersonation racket.

Legal fraternity members have demanded strict action and stringent verification mechanisms to prevent such breaches in the justice system.
