US President Donald Trump claimed on Sunday that Iran did not transfer uranium from its nuclear plant amidst rising regional tensions, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
"I can confirm that Iran did not move uranium from the nuclear facility," Trump said while addressing recent media reports. "Yes, I saw some reports suggesting they transferred 400 kilograms of uranium," he noted, but dismissed the claim as unlikely.
Transferring anything from a nuclear plant, especially uranium, is "very difficult and extremely dangerous," Trump emphasised. He said, “What actually happened is that the Iranians evacuated themselves to safer locations.”
President Trump further elaborated that people in Iran were trying to save their lives amidst the looming threat of military action. "Everyone was trying to escape danger," he added.
Reflecting on the recent strike at Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility, Trump claimed, “Nobody expected us to target Fordow.” He described the nuclear site as previously thought to be impenetrable and untouchable.
"Iran had no idea we were about to attack,” Trump concluded, framing the strike as a calculated and unexpected move that left Tehran stunned.
