Agha Ali shares his two cents on rising trend of showing drama finales in cinemas
Pakistani actor Agha Ali has shared his thoughts on the growing trend of screening television drama finales in cinemas, saying the trend seems to benefit the creators more than the audience.
He was speaking on a talk show where the discussion revolved around the increasing trend of showing blockbuster drama finales on the big screen.
The host pointed out that every actor dreams of seeing their work in cinemas, while another guest described the trend as a positive development for the industry.
However, Agha Ali offered a different perspective. He said that although the idea may be exciting for actors and producers, the general public is not actively waiting to watch television episodes in movie theaters.
"We release dramas in cinemas to make us happy. The public isn't waiting for them in cinemas," he remarked.
The host responded by explaining that only dramas with exceptional ratings and widespread popularity receive theatrical releases.
She added that producers often secure sponsorships for these special screenings.
Agha Ali clarified that he was not criticizing the concept itself but believed the trend should not be mistaken for a strong public demand.
He noted that cinema halls are often not filled to capacity for such screenings.
