AJK Legislative Assembly approves 2026-27 budget, Finance Bill 2026

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly on Monday approved the budget for the financial year 2026-27 and the revised budget for 2025-26.

Following a detailed discussion on the budget, Finance Minister Chaudhry Qasim Majeed presented the Finance Bill 2026 in the house. The Legislative Assembly approved the Finance Bill 2026 by a majority vote.

The assembly also formally approved the estimated budget for the financial year 2026-27 and ratified the revised budget for the financial year 2025-26.

During the budget session, members expressed their views on the funds allocated for various sectors.

With the approval of the budget, the government has paved the way for the implementation of expenditure and development projects for the new financial year. The approval of the budget and Finance Bill has ratified the government's financial strategy for the new fiscal year.

Finance Minister Qasim Majeed said the approved budget would help achieve the goals of public welfare, development and economic stability.

Following the approval of the Budget and Finance Bill 2026, the Azad Kashmir government will begin implementing its plan for the new fiscal year.
