Danish Taimoor says Portugal need a ‘miracle’ to win World Cup
Pakistani actor Danish Taimoor has set social media abuzz with his candid and surprisingly blunt assessment of the FIFA World Cup, admitting that despite being a passionate Portugal supporter, he does not believe the team has looked capable of lifting the trophy.
Taking to Instagram, the actor shared a photo of himself wearing Portugal's iconic No. 7 jersey before offering a detailed analysis of the tournament's opening round. Rather than focusing solely on results, Danish evaluated teams based on their overall quality of football, tactical discipline, and consistency on the pitch.
He wrote a detailed caption to share his views:
“First round done and for me, five teams have looked a level above the rest: France, England, Brazil, Spain & Morocco.
What impressed me the most wasn’t just the results, it was the quality of football they played. Their defensive shape, high press, intelligent positioning, quick transitions, off-the-ball movement, ball recovery, and the way they controlled the tempo of the game were outstanding. Their midfield doesn’t just create chances; it dictates the game, supports the attack, wins second balls, and tracks back instantly. Every player knows when to press, when to drop, and when to attack the space. That’s what makes these teams look like genuine title contenders.
If they continue playing with the same intensity and discipline, I genuinely believe one of these five teams will lift the World Cup.
As for Portugal, my heart wants them to go all the way, but based on what we’ve seen so far, I don’t think they’ve looked like champions yet. It would take something truly special, maybe even a miracle for them to win it all.
Now let’s see what the knockout stage has in store. This is where the real-World Cup begins and above all, cherish these moments. We may be watching the final World Cup appearances of legends like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Luka Modrić, Manuel Neuer, Neymar, Mohammad Salah, Kevin de Bruyne, Virgil Van Dijk, Son Heung min, Casemiro, Sadio Mane."

In his caption, Danish Taimoor explained that true winners are chosen by how well they play, not just the match scores. He said that France, England, Brazil, Spain, and Morocco looked like real champions because of their great teamwork, strong defense, and smart playing style. Even though he loves Portugal, he honestly admitted that they did not play like champions and would need a miracle to win the cup. Finally, he told fans to just enjoy the games because this is the very last World Cup for legendary players like Ronaldo, Messi, and Neymar.
