Govt orders key transfers and postings in civil bureaucracy, police service

The federal government on Monday issued a series of appointments, transfers and deputation orders involving officers of the civil bureaucracy, Police Service of Pakistan and various federal institutions.

According to official notifications issued by the Establishment Division, Captain (retd) Muhammad Mahmood has been regularized as Secretary of the Housing and Works Division. He was previously serving as Chief Executive Officer of the Jinnah Medical Complex and Research Center.

In a separate notification, the tenure of Muhammad Faisal Rana, a Grade-20 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan, in the UN Department of Peace Operations, has been extended until November 3, 2026. He will report to the Establishment Division upon completion of his assignment.

The government has also granted Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Rashid Mahmood one week's leave from June 29 to July 6. During his absence, Member (Strategic Transformation) Dr. Hamid Atiq Sarwar has been assigned the additional charge of the FBR chairman.

Deputy Secretary of the Inter-Provincial Coordination Division Asia Gul has been transferred to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) while the tenure of Director Miss Benazir, serving in the Directorate General Ports and Shipping Wing Karachi, has been extended by one year until June 5, 2027.

The deputation period of Grade-18 officer Mohsin Ali Shah in the Sindh Revenue Board has also been extended for another year.

Medical Officer Dr. Fatima Bibi has been transferred from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Islamabad under the federal government. General Manager Audit Netco Sarfaraz Hussain has been transferred to the Gilgit-Baltistan government and appointed as Deputy Director in Pakistan Baitul Mal.

Meanwhile, the appointment of Muhammad Shahzad as Section Officer in the Economic Affairs Division has been cancelled.

Among the police service transfers, Grade-18 officer Abdul Rauf Babar has been transferred from the Punjab government to the Balochistan government. The services of Grade-18 officers Muhammad Sami Malik and Faryal Farid have been placed at the disposal of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.

The federal government has also appointed Muhammad Ijaz Khan as Secretary of the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) on deputation for a period of three years. He was previously serving as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Interior.

In another notification, Dr. Jahanzeb has been appointed as Medical Officer at the Federal Government Polyclinic Islamabad on deputation for a period of three years.

The Establishment Division has issued official notifications for all the appointments, transfers and deputation orders.
