Pakistan hands two strong demarches to Kabul over Karachi terror attack

Pakistan has summoned the Afghanistan’s envoy to the Foreign Office in Islamabad and handed him a strong demarche regarding the terrorist attack in Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In a statement issued in Islamabad on Monday, the Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi in response to media queries regarding Pakistan’s demarche to the Afghan Taliban Regime following the Karachi terrorist attack, stated: The Afghan chargé d’affaires was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs last (Sunday) night and a strong demarche was issued regarding the Karachi terrorist attack. A similar demarche was conveyed by Pakistan’s Ambassador Mr Ubaid-ur-Rehman Nizamani, to the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.”

He further said “These demarches were issued in light of the fact that Afghan nationals, including one apprehended alive, participated in this attack, proving yet again that Afghan soil and Afghan nationals continue to be used to orchestrate terrorist attacks inside Pakistan.”

An injured suspect arrested after the terrorist attack on a Pakistan Rangers Sindh camp in Karachi has admitted that he belonged to the banned Jamaat-ul-Ahrar and had travelled from Afghanistan.

The suspect identified himself as Usman Ali and said he came from the Jalalabad area of Afghanistan.

In his video statement, the suspect said three other men, identified as Abdul Hadi, Janan and Umar Farooq, had accompanied him in the attack.
