More aid arrives as Mirza briefs Chinese medical team

Special Assistant to PM Dr Zafar Mirza has welcomed Chinese doctors, praising Beijing’s timely measures that saved China from further infections and deaths in connection with the coronavirus as another planeload of Chinese supplies landed in Islamabad on Sunday.
“Any complacency could spread the virus,” he said.
“We welcome the Chinese crew, and their arrival during this critical time is really encouraging for Pakistan,” Zafar Mirza and added that China controlled the virus timely from further spreading.
Briefing the Chinese medical team about Pakistan’s efforts to tackle coronavirus spread, Dr Mirza announced that no one coming from China tested positive for the virus. Mirza said that China took strict measures following the spread of the coronavirus and screened every incoming visitor.
According to a Health Ministry spokesman, the Chinese doctors' team also visited the National Institute of Health (NIH) in Islamabad on Sunday.
Amid the development, another Chinese plane carrying six tonnes of medical supplies landed in Islamabad on Sunday morning.
The latest Chinese medical consignment included 300,000 face masks, 15 ventilators and other equipment.
