Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that removal of Finance Minister Hafeez Shaikh is a victory for the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an alliance of 10 opposition political parties currently trying to oust the government led by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of Prime Minister Imran Khan. 

Bilawal said in a tweet on Monday the PTI fielded Hafeez Shaikh in the Senate election so that this IMF man could continue as the finance minister of Pakistan, but the PDM foiled this bid by defeating him in the Senate election. He said that now the government was admitting its failures and the wave of price hike triggered by these failures. He said that parliamentary politics has proved to be the most effective weapon against the PTI government so far.
