Teachers and Assistant Education Officers (AEOs) protest outside Chief Minister House at Club Chowk has entered into the 11th day in a row and a deadlock between the school education department and protesters persisted, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Traffic flow has been severely affected due to a sit-in on Davis Road.
The protesters demanded that re-appearing in the PPSC exam requirement is not acceptable in any case and they will continue their protest till permanent orders and notifications from the provincial school education department.
Reportedly, the protesters are demanding unconditional regularisation of services of over 11,000 Secondary School Educators (SSEs) and Assistant Education Officers (AEOs) across the province.
Earlier, Punjab School Education Minister Dr Murad Raas had met a delegation of the protesting teachers on Friday and had assured of taking up the issue with relevant authorities as the issue did not just pertain to the School Education Department.
