PM Imran chairs PTI’s political committee meeting
March 29, 2022 02:06 PM
As both ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and the opposition parties are making hectic efforts to gain an upper hand before voting on the no-trust motion in the National Assembly (NA), which is expected to take place next Monday, Prime Minister Imran Khan will again chair the PTI’s political committee meeting in Islamabad today (Tuesday), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
PM Imran will take members of his party into confidence on the nomination of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi for the seat of Punjab chief minister.
Similarly, he will brief the meeting about the progress made on contacts with the PTI government’s coalition partners as well as with the party’s defectors.
It is worth-mentioning here that as the date for voting on the opposition’s no-confidence motion against the government is drawing near, political committee meetings of the ruling party are being held more frequently now.
PM Imran had chaired one such meeting just three days ago, on March 26, 2022.
Two days ago, on March 24 too, the prime minister had chaired the committee’s meeting.
And there was yet another meeting six days ago, on March 18.
