The opposition party, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), has demanded the government bring to Parliament the matter of a threatening letter to Prime Minister Imran Khan, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Tuesday.
“This is not just a threat to Imran Khan … this is a threat to Pakistan,” former PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi told reporters during a press conference in the federal capital.
He went on to say: “Which state did dare hurl such threats? We stand by you over this issue.
“If the PM is telling the truth, the letter matter be taken to the Parliament. And if the premier is lying, he should tender an apology.”
Shahid questioned the timing of raising this issue, saying: “Why is the letter issue raised during no-confidence motion proceedings.”
He said the ex-PM Nawaz Sharif went abroad for treatment and PM Imran remained busy with a blame game against the person who made the country a nuclear power.
He questioned why the letter issue can’t be brought to Parliament if it is raised with the ministers and judges of the Supreme Court.
"For the past two days, the prime minister and his ministers have been talking about national security, which is of great concern to the opposition. We demand in-camera sessions on letter matter
The letter will be publicized after April 4."
