Another electricity bomb ready to fall on inflation-hit masses

Electricity consumers across the country should be prepared for the additional load as NEPRA is requested by the K-electric and CPPA to increase the cost.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NAPRA) will hear the petitions of the Central Power Purchase Agency (CPPA) and Karachi-Electric tomorrow (Thursday).
The channel report said that it is requested to NEPRA to increase the cost of electricity by Rs1.62 per unit for Karachi consumers and 86 paise per unit across the country.
The report said the applications for increasing the electricity charges were filed in NEPRA for February monthly fuel adjustment. NEPRA will take a decision after the scheduled hearing on Thursday, March 30.
