Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) Wednesday appreciated the government for passing the bills related to judicial reforms and lawyers' protection in National Assembly.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the PBC said the passage of a bill by the National Assembly regarding the power of the Suo-Motu notice of the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) is commendable.
The PBC said the right of appeal has also been given in the Suo Motu notice which was the demand of the Council.
The PBC said by scheduling the appeal for hearing within 14 days, the public and citizens will have access to justice.
The Council also paid thanks to the government for passing the Lawyers Protection and Welfare Bill 2023 as it was necessary for the lawyers' community.
The PBC also expressed a hope that the Senate will also pass the bill and make it a law.
