Proclaimed offender shot dead in Chakwal police encounter

A proclaimed offender was gunned down during an encounter with a team of the Crime Control Department (CCD) in Chakwal, reported 24News HD TV Channel on Sunday.

The police encounter took place in the jurisdiction of Jhelum Police Station in Dhok Munawwar.

The accused was later identified as Malik Ahsan son of Mohammad Safdar.

The accused opened fire on Mudassar Hussain soon after Eid al-Fitr prayers. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz took notice of the incident and handed over the case to the Crime Control Department.

It is necessary to mention here that before the formation of CCD, various proclaimed offenders were avoided arrest due to political or financial influence, but now they have to face justice.
