Turkish intelligence warns Iran conflict could last decades, praises Pakistan

The head of Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization, Ibrahim Kalın, has expressed concerns over the ongoing conflict involving Iran, warning that the war could become a decades-long regional crisis, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Speaking on Sunday, Kalın praised Pakistan for its role in facilitating peace and diplomatic engagement. 

He emphasised that Turkey fully supports ongoing negotiation efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions in the Gulf.

Kalın described Iran’s recent attacks on Gulf countries as unacceptable, noting that it remains crucial to determine the initiator of the conflict. 
He warned that the cost of a prolonged regional war could affect up to eight billion people, highlighting the global humanitarian stakes.

The Turkish intelligence chief stressed that Turkey is prepared to intervene diplomatically to “cool the fire” and prevent further escalation, underscoring the importance of cooperation among regional and international actors to maintain stability.
