27 UAE repatriation flights to Pakistan scheduled for early June

May 29, 2020 06:12 PM

Dozens of repatriation flights from the UAE to Pakistan have been scheduled for the first 10 days of June, Pakistani officials announced. A total of 27 special flights will bring back stranded citizens in the Emirates back to their home country.

The flights are part of a large repatriation operation being carried out by Pakistan in collaboration with UAE authorities. About 63,000 citizens had registered with the General Consulate of Pakistan in Dubai to return home since travel restrictions were placed across the globe.

The Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resources Development released the schedule, which includes flights to major cities such as Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Karachi, Peshawar and Islamabad.

The Pakistan International Airline (PIA) will carry out 20 flights from the UAE and the remaining will be carried out by UAE carriers.

However, the Emirate from where the flight will depart has not been disclosed.

More than 11,500 Pakistanis in the UAE have already been repatriated since special flights began more than a month ago.

The General Consulate of Pakistan in Dubai has warned citizens against con artists pretending to be consulate officials selling fake flight tickets.

Consul-general Ahmed Amjad Ali said that those who have registered should wait for a confirmation call from the consulate, who will then provide further instructions on how to purchase a ticket from a PIA counter.

Mr Ali has also warned citizens against making any online purchases of tickets as they are “fake”.
