Peshawar’s first Sikh woman journalist arrested for kidnap, torture
Police have arrested Peshawar’s first female Sikh journalist along with her husband on charges of abducting and torturing a Sikh youth, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
Shalim Kaur alias Manmeet Kaur and four other people including her husband have been accused of kidnapping and torturing a Sikh youth, Avinash Singh, in Kohat.

Avinash Singh had been brought to Peshawar’s Lady Reading Hospital while he was unconscious a few days ago. He is still under treatment at the hospital.

Manmeet Kaur and other four accused had obtained pre-arrest bails which a court cancelled on Saturday and the police took them in custody.
Manmeet Kaur had recently worked for a TV news channel.
