A shopkeeper Saturday severely tortured a 10 years old schoolboy for eating a single piece of plum to satiate his hunger.

According to 24NewsHD TV Channel, victim Shahid Ali, a resident of the Barama area of Mangora, Swat had shifted to Saidu Sharif Hospital with severe injuries.

Law and Human Rights department Director-General had taken stern notice of the incident over the demand of the parents of the victim child.

The director-general said torture of the children was a big violation of human rights so they would try to punish the responsible at all cost to stop such incidents in the future.

It was informed that the victim child during his school break got hungry and tried to get a piece of damson from the outside of the shop as he had no pocket money to buy it due to the poor financial conditions of his parent during the third wave of Covid-19 in the area.
