Bilawal to leave for US-Europe tour tomorrow

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will begin an official visit to the United States tomorrow, reported 24NewsHD TV on Thursday, quoting diplomatic sources.

According to insider sources, he will be accompanied in the U.S. by Hina Rabbani Khar and Jalil Abbas Jilani. Other committee members, including Musadik Malik and Khurram Dastgir Khan, will join the delegation soon.

Under the instructions of the Prime Minister, Bilawal is leading a committee that will visit the United States and European countries. The delegation will travel to Washington, D.C., as well as New York where he will begin official meetings with U.S. officials from June 2.

In New York, the delegation is expected to meet UN Secretary-General António Guterres, as well as the President of the UN General Assembly, diplomatic sources confirmed. The delegation is also likely to meet Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar Ahmed.

In Washington, D.C., the committee led by Bilawal will hold meetings with U.S. officials. Meetings are being scheduled with Trump administration officials, members of Congress, and U.S. senators.

During the meetings, U.S. officials will be briefed on Pakistan’s position regarding tensions with India. The committee will also provide detailed information about India’s disinformation campaigns and foreign-influenced operations.

The delegation, led by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, will remain in the U.S. until June 9, after which they will depart for the United Kingdom. In the second phase, after the UK visit, the committee will proceed to tour European countries, diplomatic sources reported.
