CM Maryam Nawaz’s son Junaid engaged to Usman Javed’s daughter

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s son Junaid Safdar has got engaged with the granddaughter of one of former three-time prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s first cousins in Lahore on Wednesday night, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

Junaid Safdar has been engaged to the daughter of Usman Javed and granddaughter of Mian Javed Shafi, who is a first cousin and confidante of Nawaz Sharif.

Usman Javed, 48, son of Javed Shafi, lives in Model Town. Usman Javed’s grandfather Mian Shafi and Nawaz Sharif’s father Mian Sharif were real brothers.

Reports said both families including Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Javed Shafi met on Wednesday in Model Town where the Junaid Safdar’s engagement took place. Nikah ceremony is expected to take place in next few weeks.

This will be Junaid Safdar’s second marriage. He was previously married to Ayesha Saif, the daughter of Qatar-based industrialist Saifur Rahman Khan.

The couple had divorced in October 2023. Junaid’s first wedding took place in London in 2021 at The Lanesborough, located in Knightsbridge. In October 2023, Junaid Safdar shifted from London to Pakistan full time to assist his mother.

Junaid Safdar, a Cambridge graduate, has two Master’s and two Bachelor’s degrees from UK universities. He received his master’s degree in International Relations (IR) from the London School of Economics (LSE) in 2020. He has also done a master’s in Global Governance and Ethics from the University College London (UCL).

Junaid Safdar was previously married to Ayesha Saif.
