First Punjab Cultural Policy 2021 to promote art through ‘Orange Economy’ approved

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar Monday approved the first Cultural Policy of Punjab 2021 to promote the art and national economy through the ‘Orange Economy’.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, under the cultural policy, artists would be brought into the social safety net and new opportunities would be created for unemployed artists.
Provincial Minister for Culture Khayal Ahmed Castro presented the first cultural policy 2021 to Punjab CM Bazdar in a meeting on Monday.
CM Buzdar appreciated the policy said due to reason of the unique and important culture of Punjab province, UNESCO has also decided to include nine more cultural sites to its heritage.
Buzdar said under the cultural policy, the film economy will be promoted in the province. He said Punjab was an authentic centre of arts, crafts, literature and languages.
The land of Punjab is being made a peaceful, progressive and culturally prosperous centre, Buzdar said adding that preservation of cultural heritage in Punjab would boost tourism, social and cultural activities.
He said that gender equality will be taken into consideration in the movement for the promotion of culture as well as coordinated efforts would be made for the promotion of visual and digital arts.
In the meeting, the Secretary Information and Culture gave a briefing on the key features of Cultural Policy 2021.
