Broom replaces pen at Sukkur girls’ school

A video showing girl students cleaning and sweeping instead of studying and attending classes at Government Girls School, Sukkur has surfaced on social media, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
The school sources say that teachers and students are charged Rs300 per month for the services of a school sweeper, and despite that such is the abysmal state of affairs in the school.
The sources also reveal that the sweeping task is carried out by both teachers and students, and the headmistress threatens to transfer teachers who do not pay the charges.
It is also learnt that several teachers have been transferred after failing to pay the charges.
