Hina Khar, Afghan FM hold political talks in Kabul

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar and Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Mutaqqi along with their respective delegations met in Kabul and discussed matters of bilateral importance, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The meeting between the two ministers focused on political consultations between the two governments. Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Afghanistan Ambassador Mohammad Sadiq was also present.
The Foreign Office in Islamabad said “A range of bilateral issues of common interest including cooperation in education, health, trade and investment, regional connectivity, people-to-people contacts, and socioeconomic projects.”
Earlier on her arrival in the Afghan capital, Hina Rabbani Khar was received at the airport by Deputy Minister for Economy Abdul Latif Nazari and the Pakistan embassy’s Head of Mission in Kabul Ubaid-ur-Rahman Nizamani.

Earlier, Hina Rabbani Khar left Islamabad for a day-long visit to Kabul to hold political dialogue with the Afghan interim government.
According to Foreign Office spokesperson, Hina Khar during her visit will hold wideranign talks with the Afghan officials with focus on bilateral relations, including cooperation in the areas of education, trade and investment, regional connectivity, people-to-people contacts and matters related to regional security.
Hina Khar will also reaffirm Pakistan’s continued commitment and support for all efforts aimed at strengthening peace and enhancing prosperity in Afghanistan.
The delegation included special representative Muhammad Sadiq and officials from other ministries.
It is possible that the issue of the borders will be discussed but the issue of trade is important because Hina Rabbani Khar met with the Finance Minister before the trip, reports said.
