PM approves Faisal Shakar’s appointment in UN as police advisor

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Tuesday approved Faisal Shahkar’s appointment in the United Nations (UN) as Police advisor for Peace operations to Secretary General UN, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
IG Shahkar had been appointed by the UN Secretary General as United Nations Police Adviser in the Department of Peace Operations (DPO) on the 31st of October. He was now in the queue waiting for the Prime Minister to give approval.
The establishment division had sent the summary of the appointment to the Prime Minister for approval when Faisal Shahkar asked for permission for employment in the UN from the Federal Government. The Federal cabinet had approved IG’s appointment in the UN for two years.
The Establishment Division will release the official notification of IG’s employment in the UN in a few days.
The Police Service of Pakistan 22nd grade officer Faisal Shahkar is on an ex-Pakistan leave with the Punjab Government’s approval.
