Imran Khan's trial in Al-Qadir Trust, Toshakhana cases will also be held in jail

A day after a special court decreed that the trial of former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan in the US cipher case would be held inside Adiala Jail due to security reasons, the Ministry of Law has directed the accountability court (AC) to also conduct the hearings of 190 million pounds (Al-Qadir Trust) and Toshakhana references, also involving Imran, in the jail, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Law Ministry issued a notification issued in this regard on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, the special court had declared that the cipher trial of Imran Khan and former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi would be held in jail, but in open court as family members, media and public would be allowed to attend the hearing.

The reserved decision to hold the trial in Adiala Jail due to security threats was pronounced on Tuesday by a special court judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain after reading a letter submitted by the jail superintendent, giving reasons for not producing the PTI chief in open court.

The judge adjourned the hearing of the case until December 1 (Friday).
