Khloe Kardashian faces backlash over ‘extreme photoshop’ in new perfume campaign

Khloe Kardashian has once again come under scrutiny from social media users after releasing heavily stylised images for her new fragrance, Almost Always.

The 41-year-old reality star, who recently claimed she has significantly reduced her photo editing, appeared almost unrecognisable in the campaign, prompting allegations of excessive retouching.

In the promotional photos, Khloe is seen wearing a lilac-toned bodice paired with an elaborate floral headdress. Her skin looks unusually glossy and smooth, giving the pictures a near-painted appearance.

Many viewers questioned whether the images reflected her natural look or if filters and airbrushing had been applied extensively.

As soon as the photos surfaced, users took to online platforms to voice their reactions. One comment read, “Thought you said you weren’t Photoshopping your pics?” Another wrote, “Well done, Photoshop!” while a third remarked, “Your whole face is manufactured.”

Despite the criticism, Khloe also received praise from loyal supporters who admired the aesthetic of the shoot. Several fans flooded the comments with compliments, calling her “timeless” and describing the look as one of her best.

However, this is far from the first time the Kardashians star has been accused of retouching her images.

Earlier this year, viewers of her Hulu series highlighted discrepancies between behind-the-scenes footage of a podcast photoshoot and the final image released publicly.

A Reddit user shared side-by-side comparisons that sparked widespread shock, with many observers noting that the final photo looked dramatically altered.

Similar concerns were raised about the promotional material for her previous fragrance, XO, where fans suggested the images appeared airbrushed.

One viewer wrote online: “Khloe is beautiful, but she doesn’t look like this at all. It breaks my heart because she doesn’t need all this editing.”

Others expressed frustration over what they believe are unrealistic beauty standards being promoted by celebrity culture. One comment read, “At this point, I assume most celebrity shots are edited into oblivion.” Another labelled the final image as an “AI version looking nothing like a human.”

While Khloe has often addressed the pressures of public scrutiny, the latest debate has once again placed her at the centre of conversations about digital editing, authenticity and how curated images impact audiences. Whether she will respond to the new round of criticism remains to be seen.
