PCB sets $220,000 bidding fee for two new PSL franchises

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has formally set a bidding fee of $220,000 for parties interested in acquiring the two new Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises, 24NewsHD TV reported on Saturday.

According to sources, the fee structure has been designed to attract serious and financially committed investors.

Of the total amount, $200,000 will be refundable, while $20,000 will remain non-refundable.

Interested bidders must submit the fee along with their official offer, enabling the PCB to filter out parties lacking the required financial commitment.

Sources said the board is encouraged by the strong interest from the market, with a substantial number of potential buyers already expressing readiness to compete for ownership of the new teams.

PCB officials are expected to proceed cautiously, conducting a thorough review of all required documents before finalising any agreements.

The last date for submitting bids has been fixed for December 15, after which the PCB will begin evaluating offers and completing the franchise award process.

The addition of two new teams is expected to boost competitiveness, broaden commercial opportunities, and further enhance the PSL’s reputation as one of the fastest-growing T20 leagues in world cricket.
