Taylor Swift’s ex Joe Alwyn reunites co-star Alison Oliver

Joe Alwyn reunited with his Conversations With Friends co-star Alison Oliver at the GQ Men of the Year Awards in Berlin on Thursday evening, three years after filming the BBC Three series.

The 34-year-old actor, ex-boyfriend of pop superstar Taylor Swift, looked in high spirits as he wrapped an arm around 28-year-old Alison on the red carpet at The Metropol. 

Joe, who graced the cover of GQ Germany’s 2025 Men of the Year issue, wore a sleek black leather jacket paired with matching trousers. Alison stunned in a plunging green velvet midi dress and black heels.

The duo first met on the 12-part series in 2022, where Alison played Frances, a 21-year-old student involved in an affair with Joe’s character, Nick. 

At the time, Taylor Swift, then dating Joe, was reportedly “totally cool” with the intimate scenes, understanding they were part of his role.

Joe’s GQ cover, featuring him shirtless alongside a horse, celebrates him as Actor of the Year and has been described by PR experts as a strategic move to highlight his career beyond his high-profile relationship with Taylor. 

“He’s clearly making waves on his own merit,” said celebrity publicist Lucy Donaghey, pointing to his work in The Brutalist, The Woman Of The Sea, and the upcoming Hamnet.

Joe and Taylor, who dated from 2016 to 2023, maintained a low-profile relationship. Meanwhile, Taylor has been engaged to NFL star Travis Kelce since August 2025.

The actor’s Berlin appearance alongside Alison marks a nostalgic reunion while underscoring his growing recognition in the industry beyond being known as “Taylor Swift’s ex.”
