AQI in Lahore reaches 177 as smog engulfs city

The city of gardens Lahore Saturday was engulfed by a spell of deadly and dense smog, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The capital of Punjab enlisted in the list of most polluted cities of the world at the second number with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 177 at 7pm PST.
The AQI in different areas of Lahore was recorded individually to be at 307 in the area of the US Consulate, 301 in DHA Phase 8, 188 in Anarkali market, 185 in Johar Town, 169 in Kot Lakhpat and 165 in the canal area.
The experts said that the atmosphere is getting badly affected which is causing hazardous negative effects on the health of the citizens.
They have also advised the public to wear face masks.
The current temperature was recorded to be at 28 degrees whereas the weather was dry and humidity was felt in the air.
