Cardi B slams Trump in fiery rant over poverty, immigration, and government shutdown
American rapper Cardi B has reignited her feud with US President Donald Trump, launching a profanity-laced tirade over economic inequality and immigration policies during an Instagram Live session.
The outspoken star, 33, accused Trump of failing the poor and exploiting working-class voters, saying, “Donald Trump was never for y’all poor motherf***ers. Not for the white poors, the Black poors, the Spanish poors, the Asians — none of y’all. To him, even millionaires are poor.”
Her comments came amid a nationwide controversy over the suspension of food benefits, as millions of Americans are expected to lose access to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) next month. The US Department of Agriculture announced that no benefits would be issued starting November 1, blaming Senate Democrats for failing to approve government funding.
Cardi blasted the administration’s handling of the issue, saying Trump was deflecting blame by targeting immigrants. “He was using immigration as an excuse for the issues we have in this country and this economy,” she said. “Now that so many immigrants are deported — who are we blaming for the fact that we’re practically going into a recession? We don’t even have food stamps.”
The rapper also revealed that her uncle was among those deported after Trump returned to the White House earlier this year. “Bring my uncle back because my uncle got deported!” she demanded in a previous video, expressing frustration over the administration’s hardline immigration stance.
This isn’t the first time Cardi has clashed with Trump. Earlier this year, she blamed his heavy security presence at the Super Bowl for damaging a pair of $3,000 Christian Louboutin heels. “The Secret Service was not playing… messed up my shoes,” she complained, holding up her scuffed stilettos during a live broadcast.
Trump, 79, made history as the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl, leading to tightened security that reportedly caused long delays — even for VIP guests like Cardi.
Despite her fiery criticism, the “WAP” hitmaker closed her rant with characteristic humor, joking that Trump could “make it up” to her — though she didn’t specify how.
Cardi, who supported Kamala Harris during the 2024 election, has long been outspoken about social and economic injustice in America — and her latest tirade shows she has no plans to tone it down anytime soon.
