CAA issues alert at Jinnah International Airport in wake of rain forecast

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued an alert at Jinnah International Airport in the wake of the torrential rains forecast by the Meteorological Department in Karachi, reported 24News HD TV channel on Wednesday.
The airport manager has directed the airside and the fire department to take emergency measures. Instructions to put extra weight on small size planes and helicopters were also issued.
The instructions were also given to move some planes to hangars to protect them from strong winds. The airport manager said that lightweight equipment used for technical facilities to the aircraft has also been directed to be shifted to a safe place due to inclement weather.
The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains and strong winds in the city.
