Newly appointed Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar held a virtual meeting with the international monetary fund (IMF) Mission Chief Nathan Porter on Thursday.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, Ishaq Dar discussed the IMF loan programme for Pakistan with Nathan Porter and highlighted the flood situation in the country.

Ishaq Dar told the IMF Mission chief that his government will take steps to reduce the economic burden along with protecting vulnerable sections of the masses.

He said his government will address structural issues to end Pakistan’s fiscal deficit.

On this occasion, the IMF Mission chief extended felicitations to Ishaq Dar on holding the post of the Finance Ministry and also shared his organization’s assessment of challenges facing Pakistan.
