Sindh High Court (SHC) Justice Muhammad Junaid Iftikhar, in a verdict on Saturday, recommended to the SHC Chief Justice (CJ) to form a larger bench to settle the case pertaining to the import of old cars, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to an exclusive report by 24News TV channel, the case had become more intricate following two benches of the SHC gave two different decisions on the matter.

Judge Muhammad Junaid Iftikhar ordered the concerned officials to shift the old cars currently parked at Karachi Port to a warehouse until the SHC gave its final verdict in the case.

The judge also remarked that the cases of imported cars would be forwarded to the chief justice.

It is reminded here that the government has banned the import of old cars.

The former bench had ordered the release of these cars under the SRO 833 while the second bench differing with the decision, sent the matter to the chief justice.
