A Pakistani woman, who changed her gender to become a man and then married a woman, has divorced ‘his’ wife.

Asma from Rawalpindi changed her gender from a woman to a man some time ago and chose Ali Akash as new name for ‘him’. Later, Ali Akash tied the knot with Neha Ali. Now there are reports that Ali Akash and Neha Ali have divorced with mutual agreement.

Ali Akash sent Neha Ali divorce papers through ‘his’ lawyer. According to sources, Neha Ali is now living in a shelter home. Taxila SHO Ejaz Qureshi says police reached out to Ali Akash’s lawyer to discuss if ‘he’ needs security, but the lawyer did not connect them to Ali Akash.

Neha Ali’s father had submitted an application to the Rawalpindi Bench of the Lahore High Court against change of gender by Asma and then ‘his’ marriage to Neha Ali.
