A citizen named Umer Mehtab filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the state-run news agency for alleged irregularities in recently held recruitments.

Ministry of Information Secretary, news agency MD and four reporters recruited Ali Jabbar Malik, Shahbaz Ahmed, Naveel Ahmed and Umer Shabbir Ghuman were made respondents in the petition. 

The applicant filed writ petition under Article 199 of the Constitution.

The petitioner prayed the court to declare applicant as legitimate candidate to be appointed as a Reported PPS-7 in news agency and the respondents may be directed to produce the record of the written test and interviews along with recording.
